Currently, we are in an educational crisis. Students fell behind from not being in schools full time with in person learning. It is imperative that students are provided with services that will accelerate learning so that they won't be so far behind.
SCHOOL INTERVENTION
In many cases, the intervention programs at schools can be ineffective in meeting the needs of students. The sessions are insufficient due to the short time span for students’ pull out and the transition times of 20-25 mins for teacher student interaction. Additionally, these groups consist of 5-6 students with little structure. Many students engage in distracting behaviors and are not learning.
The same problem exist with afterschool programs. In most after school programs, students are groups of about 30- 40 kids in a room with about 5 adults. It is impossible for every student to get the individual attention needed, so it doesn’t always serve its purpose.
Our organization will provide no more than 1 tutor for every 2 students. Tutoring services can be provided at school sites, through virtual meets, and at our facility. Low ratio of student to tutor partnering and one one one is more beneficial than group tutoring or after school programs. Students are given self-focused direction without distractions. The tutor can assess academic needs and meet those individual needs. Students get to build relationships with their tutor which increases their confidence in learning. Our organization seeks to provide that one on one attention to maximize student learning.
