"SEE ME" Film and literature Project

"See Me" is an innovative curriculum designed to engage students in a culturally responsive exploration of literature and film. The program aims to not only address Common Core standards for literature and film but also to provide a platform for undiscovered talent, fostering inclusivity, and supporting initiatives to bridge the academic achievement gap.
Middle and high school students from Atlanta, Georgia and the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area will come together to participate in behind-the-scenes film production and on-camera action for the new series, "See Me". The series will support SEL goals in the middle school setting.
English Language Arts curriculum developers will create a curriculum that includes the following:
- Development of reading comprehension activities aligned with Common Core standards for each literary work.
- Activities designed to enhance critical thinking, analytical skills, and cultural understanding.
- Teacher guides and assessment tools to facilitate effective implementation in classrooms.
S.M.A.R.T BUS is excited to partner with actress and director, Charmin Lee, film producer Cicely Gilkey, and actress, Shavonia Jones as film producers for this project.
